Hello families! I am very excited to make music with our new group of kindergarteners and young 5′s. We have music class for 25 minutes in our music room. Through singing, playing games and listening, we will explore beat, rhythm, our voices, instruments, and movement this year. Please check back often on this website to find out what your child is doing in music class.
The students did a nice job demonstrating some of our music class activities in the Middle School auditorium tonight! I am looking forward to many great years in music class with this energetic bunch!
Please join us at the Spring Lake Middle School Auditorium on Tuesday, May 4th at 7pm for our K/Y5 “Informance.” This concert will entertain AND educate you about the learning that has been happening in music class this year. More detailed information will be sent home after Spring vacation.
Join us as over 70 Holmes students show their talents in the Spring Lake High School auditorium at 7pm. Performers and emcees will meet Mrs. Ireland and Mrs. Berry in the seats on the right hand side at 6:50pm to get ready.
In Y5 and kindergarten, we have been exploring our light high voices with “BooBoo” the ghost, bean bags, and pipe cleaners. We have also been singing and playing games with “Hot Cross Buns” and have learned Thanksgiving words to the tune of “Are You Sleeping.”
The Y5 and Kindergarten students have been singing songs, playing instruments, and moving to music. Our theme has been “backyard creatures.” Some backyard animals have been an owl, a woodpecker, and a butterfly. We have just started music about pumpkins for fall and Halloween.
